International Services
Volunteers actively work International Social Services cases to assist individuals and families separated by war, political events, and disasters in re-establishing contact with other family members. Tracing and Red Cross Message service, most active during conflicts and catastrophic events, are often required for years beyond the event. The Cape Cod and Islands Chapter provides the link in the community that facilitates the location, communication (Red Cross Messages) and reunification between the family members.

The American Red Cross tracing and Red Cross Messages have traditionally been conducted between people in the United States and their relatives around the world. Additionally, the American Red Cross Holocaust and War Victims Tracing and Information Center, opened in 1990, is the national clearinghouse for persons seeking the fates of loved ones missing since the Holocaust and it's aftermath.
