Hurricane Season has officially started...be prepared...
Should a storm develop and shelters open, watch this space for updates
As storms and hurricanes are coming, be sure that your family disaster plan is in order and be prepared to shelter in place. If called upon to do so by local emergency managers, the Red Cross is prepared to operate shelters around the Cape and on the Islands. Local volunteers are on standby. Always listen to the local radio (battery operated if need be) for announcements.
Note, if the power goes out, do not use candles. Use flashlights only.
All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. The Cape Cod and Islands Chapter receives no government support for disaster relief servies. To support your chapter, donate on-line right here.
